Opal Legbars are a stunning breed known for their soft, lavender-tinted, barred plumage and their beautiful sky-blue eggs. Bred from the Crested Cream Legbar line, Opal Legbars combine the same friendly temperament and cute head crests with a rare and eye-catching color variation. They are active, intelligent birds that thrive in free-range environments but also don’t mind confinement, and are generally easy keepers making them a wonderful choice for both hobby farms and backyard flocks. With their striking appearance and dependable egg production, Opal Legbars add both beauty and practicality to any coop.

Since Opal Legbars are technically ‘Lavender’, we breed Cream Legbars split for Opal in the same pen with the Opals to preserve feather quality within our line. Because of this, our hatching eggs will hatch both Opal and Cream split for Opal. A rare Frost White is also possible in this pen. All hens and roosters in this pen are tested homozygous for blue egg genetics.
